Field Farm Organics Products
'Free Rangers' - Lamb
Our lambs are reared naturally and roam between clover rich fields to enhance their diet and ensure our spring lamb is natural and tender.
They are bred from Suffolk/Scotch half bred ewes using a Suffolk ram.
'Free Rangers' - Chickens
Chickens are reared on the farm and can be seen on the grass fields approaching our farm shop. They are fed on quality feed free of GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) to ensure the best flavour around.
Chickens are kept within strict animal welfare practices and have to be a minimum of 90 days old before they are ready. Please note you will have to order our chickens as there is usually a waiting list.
'Free Rangers' - Pork
We breed and rear our own rare breed Berkshire pigs to give our customers real pork. Berkshire pigs are black with a small white blaze on their heads. They are smaller than usual pigs and this is why they are now a rare breed owing to extensive production needing fast growing animals.
Our Berkshires live outside on the old vegetable plots and enjoy nothing more than a good root and are brilliant at weeding!
Berkshire pork has the taste that all pork lovers will remember and the beauty of it is that even on a bad cook day the crackling comes out perfect.
'Free Rangers' - Sausages
Our friendly local butcher who prepares our meat for us makes Lincolnshire sausages, using our pork, to his secret recipe. Only quality pork goes into the sausages so our customers are guaranteed a proper pork sausage.
'Free Rangers' - Turkeys
We rear Bronze turkeys here at Field Farm. They live outside in the field but have access to shelter as and when they like.
Their flavour is enhanced by the natural feed mixture which contains speciality herbs and guarantees the bird a natural game flavour and a recipe for success for the cook!
Turkeys need to be ordered and the earlier the better as they go very quickly.
The size of turkeys range from 10lb to 22lb approx.
Beef
When available we purchase Lincoln Red Beef to sell in the farm shop. We don't have facilities available for rearing beef here at Field Farm but we only buy from local farmers who have reputable names with finest Lincoln Red Beef.
'Free Rangers' - Eggs
Our eggs are produced by our Black Rock hens. We chose to have Black Rock as not only do they look the most splendid of birds with their velvety black plumage but they lay the most beautiful brown eggs you can buy.
On a visit to Field Farm you will see them roaming around the grass field freely and the yard. They are very friendly birds who won't flap in a scatty manner, they will look at you and strut off in a ladylike way leaving you wondering "was that really a hen?".
'Organics' - Vegetables
We grow our own selection of vegetables which we sell seasonally through our farm shop. In the spring we sow seeds in the polytunnel for transplanting into the field.
Our potatoes are grown from the finest Scottish organic seed which is delivered to us in January. We aim to produce potatoes that are suitable for all round use therefore you can bake, boil, roast or chip them and the result is yummy every time.
'Free Rangers ' - Bacon & Gammon
We now home dry-cure bacon and gammon. Still using the same pigs (Berkshires), we salt the bacon and gammon before hanging it for a minimum of 2 weeks. The result is delicious meat which is currently flying off the shelves!
